When the weather starts to get chilly, a hot, cozy drink is a must.  What’s even better than that is HALLOWEEN DRINKS!  For halloween, you see a lot of really cute themed food and drinks.  Which is great but I just think that some take it too far with the realistic ness of it.  I don’t want to eat something that looks like intestines or drink something that looks like blood.  That’s too far in my opinion.

  This halloween drink is an adaptation of my hot chocolate bombs from Christmas last year.

   So, you know my obsession with caramel apples?………. You know, I made the caramel apple slices.  Then there was caramel apple cheesecake.  And we can’t forget the caramel apple mini cakes. Well I’m at it again.  I’m sorry I can’t help it.  This time I used it to make some halloween drinks.

Halloween Drinks : Halloween Hot Chocolate bombs – The Process

  This recipe is just like my hot chocolate bombs that I made for christmas.  The main difference being what was used to make the bomb.  Use any type of chocolate that is caramel flavored.  I just don’t recommend the caramel candy melts because they don’t taste like caramel.  Other than that I just used a bit of hot apple cider mix to give it that caramel apple flavor.  I used a jack-o-lantern mold but you can use spherical one if you like.

Caramel Apple Hot Chocolate Bombs

Yield: 1 Drink
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Additional Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

A hollow caramel flavored pumpkin shape ball filled with hot chocolate powder and hot apple cider powder. When dropped into a mug of hot milk, the ball will disolove and make a cozy and warm caramel apple hot chocolate .drink

Ingredients

  • 1 TBSP of Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tsp of a Pouch of Hot Apple Cider Mix
  • 1/4 of a Package of Caramel Flavored chocolates
  • 1/4 TBSP of Granulated Sugar
  • Enough Sprinkles To Cover The Seam

Extra Ingrediants

  • 6 ounces of Milk
  • 6 Ounces of Heavy Cream

Instructions

How To Make The Bombs

  1. Place the chocolates in a microwave safe bowl and melt at 30 second intervals until melted.
  2. Place the melted chocolate into 2 of the pumpkin molds and paint into all the little nooks and crannies of the mold with a small paint brush. Set aside for 5 minutes to set.
  3. Pop out the pumpkins from the mold and add the mixes to the inside of 1.
  4. Place a small skillet over medium heat and leave it to heat up for about a minute.
  5. After a minute take it off the stove and flip your empty half of the bomb on the open end down.
  6. Lift it up and place it flush with the other half to create a hollow pumpkin ball.

Making the Hot Chocolate

  1. Place 5 ounces of milk and 5 ounces of heavy cream in a small sauce pot and heat up over low heat until the milk comes to a simmer.
  2. Place the hot chocolate bomb into your mug and then pour the hot milk on top.
  3. Stir until all melted and dissolved.
  4. Enjoy!

Notes

Do not let the milk boil.
