How I Made This Easy Summer Dessert Recipe

Now truth be told, I had to try this recipe twice. I originally thought that I had to wet the grapes more in order for the sugar to stick. Bad idea. The sugar got too wet and clumped up. Don’t Do That!

Instead, the moisture that is already on the grapes from the fridge is enough. So, just place them in a bowl and toss them in the sugar coating.

The Coating For This Easy Summer Dessert Recipe

There are many recipes out there for these grapes that just use regular granulated sugar to coat but I elected to used the same mixture as in my sour patch kids recipe to coat the grapes. It’s just a very simple mixture of sugar and a powder called citric acid. It’s a sour powder that is typically used to make sour candy.

And that’s it! That’s how to sour grapes, an easy summer dessert recipe. Or even better an appetizer for a party. Check out the party snacks page for a few more ideas for summer party appetizers like last week’s recipe, cake fries and confetti cake dip.
