Can You Freeze Overnight Oats

Little Debbie Inspired Recipes

This is not the first Little Debbie recipe that I have made on this blog. About a year or so ago, I made copycat cosmic brownies. Still to this day, it is one of my favorite recipes on this blog.

Today, we are making another treat that is inspired by Little Debbie. The Oatmeal Creme Pies this time. I made oatmeal cream pie overnight oats. These were a cinnamon, sugar overnight oat base with a marshmallow frosting on top.

The Process

The process of this is super short and sweet.

Step 1 – Put all your dry ingredients into your serving jar or container.

Step 2 – Add in your milk, Just enough to submerge the oats. (they will float. That’s ok, just press them down with a spoon enough to get them wet)

Step 3 – Cover that and put in the fridge. And then make up a quick frosting of confectioners sugar, marshmallow spread and butter.

FAQs

The Type of Jar Used For These Overnight Oats

For overnight oats, most people use just normal jars like these but I personally think that a jar that is wider and shorter is easier to eat out of like the one that I used that I got from IKEA or these that I found online.

Can You Freeze Overnight Oats/ How To Store

These overnight oats can absolutely be frozen. With the oats in the original covered container, just pop them in the freeze. When you want to thaw them, just pop them in the fridge overnight.

Just make sure that they are frozen without the frosting. That can be made the day before but must be put on the top just before serving. Or if you are taking this to work for example, the frosting can be placed on your oats that are de-thawed, covered and then eaten later.

These can be meal prepped for the week if you like. Just put each portion in the fridge overnight and then you can eat them throughout the week. They take up to 5 days before they get soggy.
