Fruit sauces are the perfect thing to compliment any dessert. They can add tartness as well as sweetness to balance things out. You can use just about about any fruit to make sauce. My favorites are tropical or exotic fruits
Let me show you how to make a pomegranate sauce. This sauce is pretty quick to make and requires a handful of simple ingredients. To start you are going to put 2 cups of pomegranate juice in a medium sized pot and bring it to a boil.
Once at a boil, turn the burner down to low and simmer this for about 15-20 minutes or until the juice is reduced by half.
While that is simmering away you are going to get your next ingredients ready. To thicken this up a little more we are going to make a slurry. After that we are going to add in a cup of sugar.
Mix together 2 Tbsp of water with one Tbsp of corn starch. This is what’s known as a slurry. It’s just a mixture that thickens a sauce.
After the sauce has reduced, add in the slurry and the sugar. Bring the mixture up to a boil and boil for about 5 minutes until thickened. Shut off the sauce and let it cool. Transfer to a differant container, cover and place this in the fridge.
