It’s happening again. People have found some new thing with health benefits. When this happens it is my duty to put it into a dessert. Because, if a dessert has an ingredient in it with health benefits, it’s automatically healthy, right? I think so. Anyway, let’s make some sea moss gummies.

What is Sea Moss, What Can Be Done With It And What Are It’s Health Benefits?

Sea Moss or Irish moss as it is also called is a type of red algae that is typically used for it’s carrageenan. Carrageenan is typically used to thicken milk for things like iced cream but scientists have actually found much more in this little plant.

Sea Moss actually has a ton of health benefits including heart health benefits, promotes weight loss, good source of iodine, gut health support, boosts your immune system, and it can even help build muscle.

Now all this is great but how do you get it? You can always buy and eat sea moss in its raw form but it has a really unpleasant taste and texture. There are also a few different supplemental forms that you can buy as well and some you can make. Including one that I will show you how to make today.

There are capsules, gels, lotions, powders and liquid drops. Then there are gummies which we will make today.

How To Make a Sea Moss Gummies Recipe

These gummies are much like my Jello Gummy Bears without the Jello. This time I used fruit juice and for the sea moss I used liquid drops. These drops are strawberry lime flavored so they actually pair very nicely with the juice. To get the same liquid drops that I used, click here.

The Molds

As for molds, there are have many options. My intention for these gummies was for them to be a Mother’s Day recipe. So I thought of making them in flower molds. But of course these could be made in any mold you like. To get the one I used, click here.

To get the solution into the molds, I like to use an eye dropper or syringe. This way pretty clean and hard to make a mess with. Perfect!

The next option is to use a silicone mold making kit. This way you can make the virtually any shape mold. To check that out, click here. This was also the kind of mold that I used for my sour patch kid recipe.

And that’s it! Leave me a comment for any questions that you might have and also let me know your favorite Mother’s Day Treats. 3. Add all the other ingredients and whisk until dissolved.
    4. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes for the gelatin to bloom.

Place the gummies in a sifter to get off the excess cornstarch. Place 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a boil with the gummies and stir them to coat in the oil.
