In the summer, one of my favorite breakfasts is to make a healthy and refreshing smoothie.  They are so versatile and you can make them with whatever you like but this combination is one of my favorites.  The only thing I am not a huge fan of with smoothies is that they don’t fill me up enough and I find myself having a second breakfast in an hour.  Not this one.  This smoothie has protein powder to keep me full for hours.  It also has a full serving of veggies to get your day started on the right foot.

Healthy and Refreshing Smoothie : How To Get The Spinach Smooth

So, I started out making smoothies just with fruit, it’s delicious.  But I started to feel a little guilty and feel like I should add veggies to it.  So I add spinach.   But I find that even though I have a pretty high powered blender (it’s a ninja) I end up with little flakes of spinach still floating in my smoothie.  The fix was actually quite easy.  I just blended the spinach up into a puree with the coconut water first and then added everything else.
